One cultural place I’d like to talk about is the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Vietnam. It’s located right in the heart of the city, and it’s one of the oldest places in Vietnam. I first heard about it from my history teacher in school, and later, I had the chance to visit it with my family during a trip to Hanoi. The Temple of Literature is a beautiful and peaceful place. It has ancient buildings with traditional Vietnamese architecture, like curved roofs and wooden pillars. There are also stone steles, which are big tablets with the names of scholars carved on them. These steles sit on the backs of stone turtles, which are symbols of wisdom and longevity. What makes this place special is its deep connection to Vietnamese culture. It was built in 1070 as Vietnam’s first university, dedicated to Confucius and scholars. Even today, students visit the temple to pray for good luck in their studies. When I was there, I saw many young people touching the turtles’ heads for blessings. It was amazing to see how this place still plays a big role in Vietnamese education and traditions. Visiting the Temple of Literature gave me a real sense of Vietnam’s history and culture. It’s not just a tourist spot—it’s a living part of the country’s identity.
